How to Get Your Treadmill or Elliptical Repaired... |
|
|
|
| |
| |
|
| |
First
is
your
fitness/exercise
equipment
under
warranty?
|
| |
The
first
step
is
to
determine
whether
your
equipment
is
covered
by a
warranty.
If
you
bought
your
machine
new,
you
should
have
received
a
manufacturer's
warranty
that
covers
parts
and
labor
for
a
specified
period.
If
you
are
still
within
the
warranty
period,
contact
the
manufacturer.
They
will
typically
arrange
for
parts
to
be
replaced,
pay
for
a
replacement
machine,
or
send
a
local,
independent
repair
person
to
your
home.
If
your
warranty
has
expired,
they
may
refer
you
to a
local
repair
person
who
you
can
pay
directly.
Research
your
documentation
-
contact
the
manufacture
-
they
will
arrange
for
a
certified
technician
to
diagnosis
the
problem
and
make
the
necessary
repairs.
There
is a
very
good
chance
that
in
Western
Pennsylvania,
Eastern
Ohio
and
West
Virginia,
the
manufacturer
will
give
us a
chance
to
meet.
I am
the
warranty
certified
technician
for
many
of
the
most
popular
commercial
fitness
equipment
manufactures.
The
work
order
will
come
to
H.P. Service
to
set
an
appointment
with
you
to
solve
your
fitness
equipment
issues.
I'll
be
Happy
to
met
you. |

 |
Is
Your
WORKOUT
Fitness
Equipment
NOT
WORKING
OUT?
|
| |
If
you
did
not
buy
your
machine
new,
you
will
not
be
covered
a
warranty.
You
could
contact
the
manufacturer
for
a
referral
to a
local
repair
person.
However,
some
manufacturers
are
not
particularly
helpful
with
this.
You
could
also
try
to
make
the
repair
yourself.
Though
this
is
often
possible,
especially
if
the
problem
is
mechanical,
most
people
don't
want
to
bother.
If
the
problem
is
electronic,
such
as a
console
that
does
not
function
properly,
the
solution
is
usually
as
simple
as
replacing
the
malfunctioning
component.
These
parts
are
usually
available
for
purchase
on
the
Internet,
but
you
typically
can't
be
certain
that
replacing
the
malfunctioning
part
will
solve
your
problem.
There
are
sources
for
free
and
inexpensive
advice
on
the
Internet,
but
this
can
be
time-consuming
and
inefficient.
If
you
are
a
fitness
center,
a
home
gym
owner,
or
just
a
one
fitness
device
owner
H.P. Service
can
make
that
workout
back
to
normal.
We
have
the
experience,
we
can
diagnosis
the
problem,
we
know
where
to
get
the
correct
parts,
we
know
how
to
get
fitness
equipment
working
so
you
can
workout.

Having TREADMILLS/ELLIPTICALS AND BIKES PROBLEMS?
|
|
|
| |
| |
| |
TREADMILLS
ARE
POWERED
BY
TWO
TYPES
OF
MOTORS,
DC
AND
AC.
BOTH
STYLES
OF
MOTORS
HAVE
DIFFERENT
FAILURES.
DC
MOTORS
HAVE
BRUSHES
IN
THEM
WHICH
NEED
TO
BE
OF
PROPER
LENGTH
FOR
THE
MOTOR
TO
WORK
PROPERLY.
IF
THE
BRUSHES
ARE
WORN,
THE
MOTOR
WILL
NOT
TURN
OR
IT
WILL
SURGE
AND
GIVE
THE
USER
A
SENSE
OF
SPEEDING
UP
OR
SLOWING
DOWN.
WHEN
THE
BRUSHES
ARE
NOT
CHECKED
AND
MAINTAINED,
THIS
COULD
ALSO
CAUSE
ELECTRICAL
PROBLEMS
IN
THE
LOWER
CONTROL
BOARD.
MOST
MOTOR
BRUSHES
GIVE
MANY
YEARS
OF
SERVICE
AND
NEED
NOT
TO
BE
MAINTAINED
FOR
SEVERAL
YEARS.
H.P. Service
USUALLY
CAN
TELL
IF
IT
IS
THE
MOTOR
BRUSHES
BY
THE
SYMPTOMS
MENTIONED
ABOVE.
MOST
TIMES
BRUSHES
ARE
AN
INEXPENSIVE
REPAIR,
IF
NO
OTHER
DAMAGE
HAS
BEEN
DONE.
AC
MOTORS
DO
NOT
HAVE
BRUSHES,
SO
WHEN
PROBLEMS
ARISE,
THEY
ARE
MORE
INVOLVED
THAN
DC
MOTORS.
IN
MOST
CASES
AC
MOTOR
REPAIR
DOES
NOT
MAKE
SENSE
OVER
PURCHASING
NEW,
FOR
THE
PRICE
IN
MOST
CASES
IS
THE
SAME.
IN
BOTH
CASES,
AC
AND
DC
MOTORS,
THEY
BOTH
HAVE
BEARINGS
IN
THEM
THAT
OCCASIONALLY
FAIL.
AT
H.P. Service
WE
CAN
REBUILD
THAT
MOTOR
AND
HAVE
IT
RUNNING
FINE
FOR
FAR
LESS
THAN
NEW.
MOTORS
ARE
A
TRICKY
COMPONENT
OF
THE
TREADMILL
TO
DIAGNOSE
THE
PROBLEM
,
UNTIL
WE
CAN
TAKE
IT
APART
AND
VISUALLY
SEE
WHAT
THE
PROBLEM
IS.
BRAKE
ASSEMBLIES
ARE
FOUND
IN
ALL
ELLIPTICALS
AND
BIKES.
THIS
IS
THE
COMPONENT
THAT
GIVES
YOU
YOUR
POWER
AND
RESISTANCE
TO
THE
USER.
BRAKE
FAILURE
COULD
BE
AS
SIMPLE
AS
NEW
BEARINGS
OR
IN
THE
ELECTRICAL
WORK
ITSELF.
MOST
BRAKE
ASSEMBLIES
SEEM
TO
BE
WITH
BEARING
PROBLEMS
MORE
SO
THAN
ELECTRICALLY.
THESE
ARE
REBUILDABLE.
MOST
SYMPTOMS
INVOLVE
SLIPPAGE
OR
NOISE
OUT
OF
THESE
ASSEMBLIES.
H.P. Service
HAS
EXPERIENCE
WITH
MANY
BRANDS
OF
BRAKES
AND
ARE
VERY
KNOWLEDGEABLE
ON
THE
SERVICE
AND
REPAIR.
ANOTHER
MAJOR
PROBLEM
IN
FITNESS
EQUIPMENT
IS
THE
ELEVATION
MOTORS.
THEY
ARE
FOUND
ON
MOST
TREADMILLS
AND
SOME
ELIPTICALS.
THEY
VARY
IN
SMALL
SIZE
IN
ELIPTICALS
TO
LARGER
SIZE
IN
THE
TREADMILLS.
VOLTAGE
VARIES
FROM
12
VOLT
DC
TO
200
VOLT
AC,
DEPENDING
ON
YOUR
MODEL.
MOST
PROBLEMS
IN
ANY
OF
THESE
MODELS
ARE
REPAIRABLE
BEING
MUCH
CHEAPER
THAN
BUYING
NEW.
WE
HERE
AT
H.P. Service
WILL
BE
UPFRONT
AND
HONEST
ABOUT
THE
BEST
WAY
TO
REPAIR
YOUR
FITNESS
EQUIPMENT.
OUR
TECHS
WILL
EVALUATE
YOUR
PROBLEMS
AND
COME
UP
WITH
THE
BEST
AND
MOST
INEXPENSIVE
WAY
TO
GET
YOU
BACK
ON
YOUR
EXERCISE
EQUIPMENT.
